A Genuine Hope to Humanity

Shri Mataji was recognised by a wide variety of individuals, governments and international organisations throughout the course of her life, for her tireless work for humanity. Her accolades ranged from nominations for the Noble Peace Prize, honorary doctorates and speeches at the United Nations, to recognition from Presidents, Prime Ministers and governors.

1986, Italy
H.H.Shri Mataji was declared “Personality of the Year” by the Italian Government.

1989, Moscow, Russia
H.H.Shri Mataji had a meeting with the Head of the Ministry of Health, USSR. Following this Sahaja Yoga was granted a ‘Full Government Sponsorship’ which included funding for promotion and scientific research.

1989, New York, US
Shri Mataji was invited to the United Nations for a talk on how to achieve world peace.

1989, New York, US
H.H. Shri Mataji was awarded the “UNITED NATIONS PEACE PRIZE”.

1992, Cincinnati, US
The 10th of September got proclaimed as the “SHRI MATAJI NIRMALA DEVI DAY”.

1993, Philadelphia, US
The 15th of October got proclaimed as the “H.H SHRI MATAJI NIRMALA DEVI DAY”.

1993, St. Petersburg, Russia
She was appointed as an Honorary Member of the Presidium of Petrovskaya Academy of Art and Science. In the history of the Academy, only twelve people have been granted this honour, Einstein being one of them. During the same year, she inaugurated the International Conference on “Medicine and Self-Knowledge” in St Petersburg which became an annual event.

1993, Los Angeles, US
A letter of welcome was granted from Mayor Richard Riodan, on behalf of the people of Los Angeles.

1994, Brazil
The Mayor of Brazil’s capital welcomed H.H.Shri Mataji at the airport, presented her with The Key to The City, and sponsored all of her programs.

1994, New York, US
H.H Shri Mataji and her association were honoured with ‘MAHATMA GANDHI – A POLICE PARADE’ with a half-day march from 5th Avenue to Central Park.

1994, New York, US
She was invited by the UNITED NATIONS for Four consecutive years to speak: How to achieve world peace.

1994, British Columbia, Canada
On the behalf of the people of Canada, She was granted ‘A letter of welcome’, by Prime Minister Mike Harcourt.

1995 Beijing, China
She was invited officially by the Chinese Government and was designated the Guest Speaker at the International Women’s Conference in Beijing.

1995, Romania
She was awarded by the Romanian Ecological University an Honorary Doctorate in Cognitive and Parapsychological Sciences.

1997, India

1998, India
A road in Navi Mumbai got named as the H.H. SHRI NIRMALA DEVI MARG.
